Uptone Audio hat ein neues lineares Netzteil entwickelt, das Kriechströme in der Gerätekette unterbinden soll. Die im Vorfeld von John Swenson (und Alex Crespi) entwickelten Überlegungen führten zum LPS-1, das kurz vor der Serienreife steht. Die Hörtests, die JS durchführte, scheinen zu belegen, dass der Eliminierung der leakage currents eine größere Bedeutung zukommt, als der Hochfrequenzeinstrahlung.
Ich finde interessant, was er an seiner Kette herausgehört hat:
„..When I run the system without the LPS-1 and use the MeanWell it is MUCH worse than with the JS-2 on its own, putting the LPS-1 in the system was significantly better than the JS-2 without the LPS-1. With the MeanWell feeding the LPS-1 the sound was only slightly worse than with the JS-2 feeding the LPS-1, still quite a bit better than the JS-2 on its own and WAY WAY better than the MeanWell on its own. I think that is a pretty good showing…“ #376
Das würde bedeuten, dass einiges an Geld gespart werden kann, indem ein kostengünstiges Schaltnetzteil (z.B. von MeanWell) mit dem LPS-1 kombiniert wird.
